this is no ordinary family :: fourth of july

Yes, I know. I am a little behind...A week of vacation, a holiday week, and a week of company has set me back. I hope to post some vacation pictures soon too.

But first, let me recap our Fourth of July. Our family gathered at our house for the day. We swam, ate, drank, and enjoyed each others company. I took at ton of pictures but here are a few to highlight the day.

life according to lo :: dance recital 2012

Lo had her dance recital last night. It is always a tough day. Costumes to worry about. Hair to fix. Make-up to apply. Rehearsal.

Despite all the craziness that surrounds the day, Lo did a wonderful job on her two performances. She was smiling and confident.

Recently, our silver lab, Jake, had a play date with his friend, Cooper. They had a blast jumping in the pool and fetching the ball. The two boys never got tired of swimming or chasing each other.

on the road again :: vacation countdown officially begins

We finally settled on a vacation destination. Clearwater Beach in Florida. Woohoo. 


My daughter has already asked at least 10 times just today "how much longer until we go". It will be her first beach trip and she is more excited than my husband and I.

life according to lo :: rider of the week

Congratulations to my sweet Lo!


She was named Rider of the Week for the second time this school year. Even if she doesn't always succeed, I am so proud of how hard she has worked to rise above the girl drama of kindergarten. She has had a challenging year but a great one. And a great teacher!
